USPS May Be Able to Ship Alcohol Soon

Shipping alcohol in the U.S. has not been easy, but things may be changing soon.

A new bill introduced on Monday called the "USPS Shipping Equity Act" may make it possible for the postal service to deliver alcohol.

Democratic Representative Jackie Speier of California says that the USPS has been at a disadvantage. "In most states, private carriers such as FedEx and UPS are already delivering alcoholic beverages.

It makes no sense to create a competitive disadvantage for the USPS by barring them from these kinds of shipments, especially given the Postal Service's dire financial condition,"

Speier said. If the bill passes, it will be working with different local and state guidelines.

Do you order alcohol online? Do you think this bill passing would change how you buy alcohol?
