In Hawai'i, we are familiar with Israel Kamakawiwo'ole's voice and music. How lucky to have heard the earlier sounds of Makaha Sons of Ni'ihau when he was playing with his older brother Skippy Kamakawiwo'ole.
Mr. Kamakawiwo'ole - to many, affectionately Bruddah IZ - had an inimitable voice and was beloved by family, friends, fellow musicians and our islands.
