Two people escaped uninjured after fire burned through their cottage in Kihei, Maui just after 4 p.m. Sunday. The fire had spread to about a quarter of the cottage, when firefighters arrived at the Waimaka Place home. They brought it under control in about 20 minutes. The fire caused an estimated $70,000 in damage and the cause was thought to be accidental. The Red Cross is helping those displaced.
