1st Official "Lion King" Trailer Has Stunning Scenery, Plus Timon & Pumbaa

A-weema-woah! Disney debuted its first official trailer for its live-action Lion King remake on Thursday, giving fans a glimpse at the new movie's gorgeous scenery while reintroducing a few classic characters. The two-minute clip opens with young Simba (voiced by Donald Glover) being told by his wicked uncle Scar (Chiwetel Ejiofor), “Life’s not fair is it, my little friend?” Amid stunning shots of the savannah, Simba's later told by Mufasa (once again voiced by James Earl Jones), "You must take your place in the circle of life." The preview ends on a humorous note, with Timon (Billy Eichner) and Pumbaa (Seth Rogen) singing the opening bars of “The Lion Sleeps Tonight.” The Lion King--which also features Beyoncé as the voice of Nala and was directed by Jon Favreau--roars into theaters on July 19.
