Arizona Man Saves Woman's Life With CPR Trick From "The Office"

A woman in Arizona can thank Steve Carell for "Stayin' Alive" recently after a bystander performed CPR on her thanks to a trick he remembered from an old episode of The Office. On January 11, Cross Scott--no relation to Carell's Office alter ego, Michael Scott--discovered a female motorist behind the wheel of her car, which had been pulled over to the side of the road. She was unconscious and wasn't breathing. "I’ve never prepared myself for CPR in my life. I had no idea what I was doing," the 21-year-old Scott says. He did, however, remember that when the Office gang underwent CPR training in a fifth-season episode, Michael Scott was taught to pump a person's chest to the beat of the Bee Gees classic, "Stayin' Alive." So that's what the real Scott did until the woman came to a minute later. Paramedics who arrived on the scene minutes later told him he likely saved the woman's life.
