On the forecast track, the center of Erick will pass by well to the south of the main Hawaiian Islands today and tonight. Maximum sustained winds are near 50 mph (85 km/h) with higher gusts. Some gradual weakening is forecast during the next couple days. Erick is expected to become a tropical depression by Sunday, and a post-tropical remnant low Sunday night.

Flossie is moving toward the west-northwest near 17 mph (28 km/h), and this general heading with a slight decrease in forward speed is expected through early next week. On the forecast track, Flossie is forecast to cross into the central Pacific basin later today.

Maximum sustained winds are near 70 mph (110 km/h) with higher gusts. Gradual weakening is anticipated over the weekend and will likely continue through early next week.
