The state's seasonably adjusted unemployment rate for April is 4.4 percent, down from 4.5 percent in March. The Hawaii State Department of Labor and Industrial Relations says the last time the rate was 4.4 percent was in August 2008. Last month, there were 631,300 people employed and 29,100 people were jobless. Nationally, the seasonably adjusted unemployment rate was 6.3 percent in April - down from 6.7 percent the month before.
