Roadwork Could Affect Traffic to UH Game at Aloha Stadium

Traffic around the University of Hawaii football game at Aloha Stadium could be affected by road construction on the H-1 freeway Saturday. While the Rainbow Warriors take on Washington, state transportation crews will be tackling the Airport Viaduct Deck Repair project. The right lane in the eastbound exit from 9 p.m. Friday through 3 p.m. Sunday. You're advised to use the Moanalua Freeway as an alternate route. And, speed limits in the work zone will be reduced to 15 miles an hour to reduce traffic vibrations that could lead to cracking in the newly repaired deck. The freeway on-ramp from Joint Base Pearl Harbor Hickam will also be closed, as will lanes on Nimitz Highway in the town-bound direction below the work area. You can expect delays in those areas.
